The heavy droid is the rarest and strongest of the common droids. It spawns at the reactors, like with melee and assault droids
Behavior[ | ]
The heavy droid follows the same AI as the assault droid. It will fire at and chase any players it notices, and stop walking once it's close enough.
It has a slower walking speed than other common droids. It also has a larger clip and longer reload time than assault droids.
When close to an active reactor, it will shoot the reactor until it is destroyed or until it is distracted by a player.
If not shooting, it will wander around with its gun held down and off to the side.
Strategies[ | ]
Because of where they shoot, heavy droids won't be able to hit you if you run around them. When you are circling them, make sure you don't get too close so that no stray bullets can damage you.
While circling, you can kill the heavy droids by simply shooting them or waiting for them to reload, and then using the katana.
Shooting them may take a while but doesn't have much risk attached. Using the katana on them is a little harder. You have to fit five katana swings in during their reload time, or you are going to get damaged.
If there are multiple heavy droids and assault droids attacking you, circle the whole group, and avoid using your melee attack.
Since it takes 5-10 shots to kill heavy droids with sniper weapons, it's better to target other droids that you can kill with 1 or 2 shots. Let allies on the ground deal with the heavy droids.
Heavy droid's slow movement makes it really easy to hit them with jeeps. If you're driving a jeep, definitely try to drive into these whenever possible.
